Postgraduate Diploma Implant Dentistry
The Smile Dental Academy’s Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry provides dentists with the knowledge and understanding of the latest techniques in Implant Dentistry. There is a well-recognised and increasing demand from patients for implant dentistry in general dental practice.
The PGDip in Implant Dentistry aims to the cover the fundamental aspects of implant dentistry, allowing clinicians to treat straightforward implant cases in practice, under the guidance and mentorship of experienced implant clinicians.
The Diploma will extend over a 12-month period involving 18 days of face to face teaching (incorporating lectures, hands on practical sessions, live oral and implant surgery sessions, and case based discussions) with a guided self-directed learning component between formal teaching days.
This comprehensive course is divided into a number of modules, covering Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry, Occlusion, Digital Implant Dentistry, Essential Minor Oral Surgery Skills, Fundamentals of Implant Placement Surgery, Principles of Implant Restoration, Hard and Soft Tissue management techniques, Sinus Considerations, All-on-4 Concept, & the Cadaver Workshop for Complex Implant Surgery.
In addition to the hands-on contact days, delegates will have one-to-one mentoring in their clinical cases. These cases are to be completed at a Smile Dental Academy Implant Dentistry accredited practice or a delegate’s clinical practice.
The course will be delivered by a team of experienced implant dentists, periodontal specialists and restorative specialists, providing a perfect blend of hospital and practice based clinical practice.
Delegates will gain knowledge and practical skills allowing them to assess, evaluate and diagnose cases and treat simple implant cases in their clinical practice. Comprehensive support will be provided throughout the course with each delegate assigned a named personal course mentor.
